Co-Chair’s Message


Welcome to the Asia International Conference on Multidisciplinary Research 2019 (AIMR’19)

I take great pleasure in inviting the community of research scientists, academics and postgraduate students to participate in the Asia International Conference on Multidisciplinary Research 2019 (AIMR’19) to be held on 10 – 11 May 2019 Colombo, Sri Lanka. It has been a real honour and privilege given to me by the AIMR’19 organizing committee to serve as Co-Chair of this conference. We hope to have more than 100 participants from 18 countries. The International Research and Development Institution (TIRDI) has brought together a rich diversity of scientists from various universities and industries to share ideas and new perspectives on a wide range of topics related to Multidisciplinary Research.

The conference focuses on many areas through six (6) conference tracks of various subjects and Keynotes Speeches, Invited Talks, and Technical Programs. The conference will be organized by the professional international organizing committee at TIRDI. There will be a significant participation by researchers from local universities and industrial organizations and the potential for collaboration and cross fertilization across borders would be substantial at this international conference.

As the Chair of the conference I am requesting to submit your valuable abstract and participate in the AIMR’19, selected papers from the conference will be published after peer reviewing. I am confident that these experienced international organizers, TIRDI will make the AIMR’19 an unforgettable event for all the participants. Finally, I am inviting you to join this most enjoyable gathering of scientists belonging to the universities and industries from many countries across the globe to get the immense benefits in the Multidisciplinary research field.

Prof. Pradeep M. Jayaweera

Prof. Pradeep M. Jayaweera is currently the Head of the Department of Chemistry, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka. He graduated from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in 1991 with a B.Sc. (Honours) Special degree in Chemistry with Second Class Upper Division. He obtained his PhD from the School of Chemistry, Queen’s University of Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom in 1996. He has more than 25 years’ experience in Chemistry and made a significant contribution to Sri Lanka in the field of Chemistry subject teaching to the University students and the related research work.

He was a Visiting Scientist at the Institute of Fundamental Studies, Kandy, Sri Lanka (Solar Cells Development project) in 1997 and Visiting Scholar at the Department of Chemistry, University of Auckland, New Zealand in 2005. He also functioned as a Postdoctoral Scholar at Nano Science and Nano Technology Institute, University of Iowa, USA in 2008/2009. In 1995 he was honoured with the Fellowship of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) by the Department of Electronics and Materials Science, Faculty of Engineering, Shizuoka University, Japan.

During the years of 2008 & 2009 at the Central Microscopy Research Facility at University of Iowa, USA, Prof. Pradeep M. Jayaweera has handled some of the major Instruments namely Kratos X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy System, Scanning Electron Microscopy (Hitachi S-4800 & Hitachi 3400N SEM), Siemens XRD, Asylum Research Atomic Force Microscope, etc. to carry out experiments in scientific research work.


Prof. Indira Silva

Professor Indira Silva is currently the Senior Professor in Veterinary Clinical Sciences at the University of Peradeniya, where she has been an academic member since 1978. She has also served many years as the Head of the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at the university, which operates and manages the only teaching hospital for veterinary care of pets and wild animals in the country.

Professor Indira Silva started her professional career as a veterinarian with an Honours Degree in Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka in 1978. She obtained her PhD in Veterinary Haematology at the University of California, Davis as a Fulbright Scholar in 1988. She is an Austin Eugene Lyons Fellow of the University of California, a Fellow of the Commonwealth Veterinary Association and a Founding Fellow of the Sri Lanka College of Veterinary Surgeons (SLCVS). She has also been honored as a life member of The Sri Lanka College of Haematologists (SLCH) and The Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science (SLAAS). She has had postdoctoral training in Internal Medicine, Clinical Pathology, Immunodiagnostics and Veterinary Cardiology in the USA and Australia.

Professor Silva has won many prestigious awards for her academic publications. She is a three-time recipient of the President’s Research Bonus Awards, which is awarded annually by the President of Sri Lanka. Professor Silva has made many contributions to the advancement of the veterinary profession in Sri Lanka. She has held many executive positions, including president for year 2014/15, in the Sri Lanka Veterinary Association (SLVA), which seeks to advance the country’s veterinary profession as a whole.


Dr. Hoshang Kolivand

Dr. Hoshang Kolivand is a Senior lecturer in Computer Graphics. He received his MS degree in applied mathematics from Amirkabir University of Technology, Iran, in 1999, and his PhD from Media and Games Innovation Centre of Excellence (MaGIC-X) in University Technology Malaysia (UTM) in 2013. He has completed a Post-Doctoral in Augmented Reality in UTM. Previously he worked as a lecturer in Shahid Beheshti University, Iran and then as a Senior Lecturer in UTM. Currently he is a Senior Lecturer in Liverpool John Moores University.

He has published numerous articles in international journals, conference proceedings and technical papers, including chapters in books. He is an active member of many international conferences and journals. He has also published many books in object-oriented programming and mathematics. His research interests include Human Computer Interaction, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality. Recently he has chaired 5th International Conference on Interactive Digital Media in the UK. He is the general chair of Graphic Design, Animation and Virtual Reality in Japan, June 2019.


Prof. P.M.C. Thilakarathna

Professor P.M.C. Thilakarathna is currently Professor of Accounting in the Department of Accountancy, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. He is the Director of the Centre for Distance & Continuing Education (CDCE), University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka since 2014.

He graduated from the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka with a B.Com. (Special). He obtained the Post Graduate Degree of M.Com. (First Class) from the Business School, Faculty of Commerce & Management Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh, India. He obtained the Ph.D. in Finance (Grade Excellent) from the Department of Business Administration, University of the Aegean, Greece.

He has more than 31 years’ experience in Finance and Accounting field and made a significant contribution to Sri Lanka for the education of Accountancy subjects and related research work. He functioned as the Head of the Department of Accountancy, University of Kelaniya, from January 2002 to December 2006.


Dr. Ramu Nagarajapillai

Dr. N. Ramu is currently working as Associate Professor in the Department of Commerce, Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu, India. He has 23 years of experience in teaching and 17 years in research. His research areas include HRM and banking. He is supervised one Ph.D. Thesis entailed “Human Resource Management Practices in Banking Organization”. Dr. N. Ramu has been received prestigious UGC Research Award. Dr. N. Ramu, has been Accredited Management Teacher (AMT) of the All-India Management Association, New Delhi. He is acted as a Key Note Speaker and Conference Scientific Secretary of the International Conference on Business: Opportunities and Challenges, Rasht, Iran. He has reviewed 100 international research articles. Which includes articles relating to Emotional intelligent. N. Ramu’s intellectual contribution to the National (15) and International (22) journals & Edited Volume of books (14) besides papers presented at the National (42) and International (42) conferences.

He has been splendid involutions in his field as versatile roles: Chairperson (International-3 & National -1), Scientific and Organizing Committee (National - 20 & International -30), Subject Expert(1), Editor–in-Chief(5) Research Assignment-Member of Editorial board (National-9 & International-67), Doctoral Committee (3), Coordinator for National seminar & In-service Training for Faculty members of Arts, Placement Officer and Professional Engagement (National-12 & International- 33). He was awarded with ‘The best research publication’ in the year 2011-2012 from Annamalai University. His biography included in the “2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century”, International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England and Who’s Who in the World, Finance Marquis Who’s Who 2016, USA.
